Meet Chris, everyone! He is another one of our amazing One Day in San Diego ambassadors. Chris has done some amazing work and we are so excited to have him on board!
Who are you and what is your profession?
My name is Chris Chen I am a human being living along side 7 billion others. My profession is “filmmaking” and photography, I like to shoot and fiddle with cameras and sometimes I get paid for it, which is a bonus.
Can you tell us a little about your background and upbringing?
I was born and raised in Aptos, CA from parents who immigrated to California. Growing up I got see a lot of the world more than most. I’ve always felt blessed and a sense of responsibility to learn and share with others different cultures ways of thinking and I feel filmmaking is one of the best ways to do that.
If you have ever been so engrossed in something that you forgot where you were, what you are doing and to a certain extent yourself. This was what film and TV did for me growing up and I still believe it’s one of the most powerful and persuasive art forms out there.
Who or what do you most admire?
I admire people in indie filmmaking and freelancers, I know how hard and changing it can be to survive. Their will and dedication not to go the 9 to 5 route inspires and motivates me.
